The event is inspired by the "London to Brighton Veteran Car Run." Accordingly, only vehicles from the first mobility era are allowed. Mr. Stephan Musfeld, a frequent participant in the "Veteran Car Run London to Brighton," has created a Swiss version of this historic race: the Luzern to Basel Run. This special event is organized in collaboration with the Verkehrshaus in Lucerne, represented by Daniel Geissmann.

Starting Point: Verkehrshaus der Schweiz in Lucerne
Destination: Pantheon in Muttenz
Permitted Vehicles: Automobiles and motor tricycles up to 1904, motorcycles and sidecars up to 1924, bicycles up to 1914
Route: From Lucerne through Emmenbrücke, Sempach, Sursee, Zofingen, Olten, Trimbach, Hauenstein, Läufelfingen, Sissach, Liestal, and Pratteln to the Pantheon in Muttenz. Along the route, there are many spectacular viewing points for spectators.
Spectacle at Hauenstein
The crossing of the Jura Mountains via the Unteren Hauenstein is a real challenge for the vintage vehicles. With a maximum gradient of 6.3% and 295 meters of elevation gain over a distance of 7.7 kilometres, participants face a demanding task. For those needing assistance, a towing service with vintage tractors is available.
Celebratory reception at the Pantheon
