Luzern to Basel Run

...from the Verkehrshaus to the Pantheon on June 22-23, 2024.

The event is inspired by the "London to Brighton Veteran Car Run." Accordingly, only vehicles from the first mobility era are allowed. Mr. Stephan Musfeld, a frequent participant in the "Veteran Car Run London to Brighton," has created a Swiss version of this historic race: the Luzern to Basel Run. This special event is organized in collaboration with the Verkehrshaus in Lucerne, represented by Daniel Geissmann.

Details about the event

Date: Saturday, June 22 to Sunday, June 23, 2024

Starting Point: Verkehrshaus der Schweiz in Lucerne

Destination: Pantheon in Muttenz

Permitted Vehicles: Automobiles and motor tricycles up to 1904, motorcycles and sidecars up to 1924, bicycles up to 1914

Spectacle at Hauenstein

The crossing of the Jura Mountains via the Unteren Hauenstein is a real challenge for the vintage vehicles. With a maximum gradient of 6.3% and 295 meters of elevation gain over a distance of 7.7 kilometres, participants face a demanding task. For those needing assistance, a towing service with vintage tractors is available.

Celebratory reception at the Pantheon

Participants are expected at the Pantheon Basel from 3:00 PM onwards. Spectators can view the pioneering vehicles up close and warmly welcome the proud drivers. Join us and experience a piece of automotive history firsthand! For all timings and information about the run, please visit here:
