On the Pentecost weekend, Saturday, May 23, and Sunday, May 24, 2026, Sarnen will once again transform into a lively classic car festival for the 27th O-iO.ch. Over 500 historic vehicles will gather in the capital of Obwalden, while thousands of enthusiastic visitors enjoy the atmosphere of a true time capsule. Complementing the classics, period-appropriate clothing and music create the perfect nostalgic setting.

Admission to the exhibitions in Sarnen and Brienz is free for all visitors. A special highlight on Saturday afternoon is the free passenger rides for both young and old. Also on Saturday, the soapbox race takes place, with the carts built by students from the graduating classes in Sarnen.

The big afternoon drive takes the 400 to 500 classic cars even onto the racetrack – great fun for everyone. The evening at O-iO.ch winds down relaxed with live music.
On Sunday, the classic cars start at 10 a.m. in Sarnen and drive over the Brünig Pass via Meiringen to Brienz. In 2026, O-iO.ch is collaborating with the Brünig Steam Railway, bringing historic mobility on road and rail together – a showcase that creates memorable and lasting experiences.
